My Story

Growing up in the Great Wasatch Mountain Range I spent a number of days skiing with my friends. One mid winter day my life as I know it was changed forever. I can still remember the day as if it was yesterday.

The day started out just like all the rest, I caught a ride with my friend and his family up to our local resort for a day full winter fun. After an hour or so of slowly creeping up the snow packed road we finally arrived. My friend and I bolted out of the car, grabbed our gear and started on our way to the mountain transporter (aka. the ski lift).

Even after our hour long ride up the canyon we were the third group to climb into the transporter. We spent all morning devouring every inch of untouched powder that the resort had to offer. After a long morning of powder runs we decided to head in for food and to clean all the extra snow off.

After lunch we decided that we would make our way around to the backside in pursuit of more untouched white gold. As we made our way to the front of the transporter line, I began to get a feeling that we should stay in-bounds, but thought of someone else cashing in on all that white gold was enough for me to push the thought out of my mind.

After a few minutes of trekking we rolled up to the edge of no return my friends hit me and said ” did you see that? I think it was a Sasquatch”. He talked until he was blue in the face trying to get me to believe he saw a Sasquatch, but the only thing I could see was a field of untouched white gold. I told him there was no such thing and I dropped into my line.

After about a hundred feet into my line I started to hear tree branched breaking. Thinking it might be my friend eating crow I looked over my right shoulder, just in time to see the Sasquatch my friend had seen charging straight for me. Before I could ski away the Sasquatch had ahold of my right arm. For the next few feet I pulled away and he pulled me back, I thought if I could slip my hand out of my glove with one hard jerk that I would be able to ski away. As I jerked my arm away the Sasquatch gave a hard pull also and my arm bent in all the wrong direction. My arm looked like Gumby’s arm after a wild four year gets ahold of it. After hours in the surgery room the doctors were able to put things back together, but I would not be able to move my right arm again.

So that’s how I came to only have the use of my left arm.

OK, not really but its better than the real story. Either way you look at it I am still Colby K. Anderson the One Arm Creative.

To get back at the Sasquatch that Gumbied my right arm I have developed a one armed Sasquatch named Grom and put him to work promoting One Arm Creative. If you see him slacking off drop me a line and we can talk about putting Grom to work on your up and coming projects.
